From morning meditation to the final moments before sleep, incense has long been a small ritual of appreciation and purification—an invitation to pause, to soften the air, and to return to yourself. With this collection, Lei offers a brief, refined interval shaped by scent and smoke—a moment that doesn’t demand attention, but gently changes the atmosphere around you.
WHY INCENSE
Japan has cherished ideas for centuries: the beauty found not in glare, but in shadow; and the quiet discipline of ritual—breath, presence, and intention.
This sensibility is often described through In Praise of Shadows—an aesthetic that values what is subtle, layered, and understated. Incense belongs to the same lineage: a practice that brings clarity to the mind and steadiness to the breath, not through noise, but through restraint.
From where these values overlap, the Lei Incense Collection emerged—naturally, and inevitably.
A Prayer Before It Meets Your Life
To mark this release, we held a traditional purification prayer ceremony at Yoyogi-Hachiman Shrine, a place long loved by the local community and located near our flagship store in Yoyogi-Uehara.
Before these incense sticks begin to accompany the lives of many, we wanted to pause — step out of momentum — and face the work with sincerity and respect.

SCENTS
The eight scents in this collection are expressions throught our Joruney. They are an extension of what we have been shaping with care—now expressed through incense, without losing the world behind them.
・Sea breeze oud
The bitter scent of lemon and bergamot blends with cardamom and oud,evoking the dappled sunlight of an enchanted forest and the sea breeze at twilight on an autumnal shore.
・Cashmere Musk
A light aroma of grapefruit and sage is combined with delicate Japanese tea leaves creating a herbal scent with a softness like cashmere.
・Honey Amber
The sweet scent of honey collected by bees from lavender flowers drifts down with the breeze, warmly enveloping you.
・White tea
A pleasant afternoon moment.The delightful blend of white tea from the kitchen fills the air, soothing the hart.The fresh herbal notes gradually spread, while hints of rose and jasmine create a perfect harmony.
・Green Symphony
The freshness of basil rises with the rich aroma of black pepper,creating a scent like a green symphony.The underlying woody notes bring a balance of strength and subtlety.
・Fig Royale
Freshly baked fig royale made with premium fresh figs.The room fills with the sweet scent of figs,followed by the dewy notes of basil and jasmine lingering in the air.
・Spicy Jasmine
A fragrance where the rich and relaxing scents coexist,creating a mysterious and invigorating aroma.Cedarwood and rose blend harmoniously with the delicate notes of lavender and jasmine.
